Super People

Without a vision the people perish. That is to say: unless someone shows the way, the opinions of man will crush us.

Mankind is miserably vulnerable. Still, the imagination of Man writes stories of super people; people who overcome terror and destruction, rising to hero status.

We desperately need someone to succeed where others have been sunk by failure when a depraved tempest smashes against their hull.

Heroes are made in the quiet times at home. Their bravery sleeps within their heart until that jarring explosion at their front door.

We need a vision of success. We need to see a quiet determination raging against chaos. Who are these people?

Is that you?

Divine Intervention

Take a peek at the odds in gambling. They cannot fall in favor of the player. There are a limited number of variables in every game, yet those limited number of variables often devastate players

People call it luck. “Good luck” has risen to an almost God like blessing. People believe in luck far more than they believe in the divine intervention of God in every life.

Personally, I firmly believe there is no such thing as luck.

But think about this for a little while: if there was no divine intervention in the lives of every man woman and child, none of us but a very few would live past 30 days. How many would live to be 90 years old?

Be Patient

The war. The battle. The temptation. The weakness.

The repair. The change of mind. Determination:

It takes a while. Reside in prayerful attitude.

It takes a while to journey,

For we reside so far from

HE.

No Big Surprise

Who are you?

Who do you want to be?

I mean, besides all the hype,

Can your mind even see?

Heroes abound

Man, they’re all around!

But how did they get where they are?

Imagination.

Is that the key?

It hasn’t worked for me.

You played the princess.

You played the prince.

It’s been downhill

Ever since.

You need some help,

Beyond these things.

It’s Jesus you need,

The King of Kings!

You nod your head.

Or you roll your eyes.

As if my words

Are no surprise.

But if you know,

And don’t respond,

How can you go

A bit beyond?

Compulaion

I am an ox in an open field. The yoke upon my neck is made from things I have never seen.

It was placed there in the night without my consent or desire.

I am compelled by joy to pull.

The smell of success is in the air.

It is the harvest soon to come.

It is the smell of grass and trees.

It is the dirt beneath my hooves.

So I pull with joyous vigor!

The strength of my bones is beyond words to say.

It is more than an Ox should have.

For there is no whip to urge me on.

There is no carrot before my face.

It is the sound of his voice that drives me forward.

Lovely,

Soft,

Tender,

More sure of his way than the hardest of steel.

“Pull”,

He whispers.

AND PULL I WILL!

Never Give Up

The ingenuity of Man is astounding.

If he wants something bad enough, he’ll find a way to make it happen.

Look at every creature, see how it struggles to survive. Catch a fish, watch it thrash about trying to get back to the water. Even the most evil man wants to live.

And when someone stumbles on the Gospel. Like the fish, they want the water of life. They will do everything they can to get into that life-giving environment. What happens if they can’t? Do they just lay there and die?

Some people do. They try to live on the floor of the boat. That’s simply not gonna turn out well.

But look at the fish. He will thrash about until he can’t thrash anymore. Anyone would say of the fish, “he wanted to live”. Shouldn’t we take a lesson from all of this?

On the day we stand before God, will he say of us, “This one wanted to live”.

Regardless your ability, Christ is the living water. Never give up.
